Robin Hood Festival

About

Weekends from 16th July - 29th August | 2022
Sherwood Forest
Free Entry | £5 Parking Per Vehicle

The Robin Hood Festival returns to Sherwood Forest after three years away, and this time it is all summer long.

It gets underway on 16th July with the National Nature Reserve's first ever outdoor cinema event, showing Disney's Robin Hood at 4pm and A Knight's Tale at 7pm. Tickets for this event are £10 per person per film for adults and £7.50 for children aged three and above. There are discounted prices for RSPB members.

Then it's time for the jousting to begin with the amazing Knights of Nottingham display team on 23rd and 24th July, recreating the fearsome competition and combat displays that audiences would have enjoyed at tournaments centuries ago.

There will be Medieval sports and activities to enjoy on the weekend of 29th July until 1st August.

Then from 4th August to 7th August, the hugely popular Cavalry of Heroes bring their spectacular equine display show to the forest once again, demonstrating their prowess in medieval horsemanship and combat skills.

For the first time ever, there'll be a Viking invasion in Sherwood thanks to the fantastic Regia Anglorum on the weekend of 12th to 15th August, when the group recreates the era of Scandinavian occupation of England in the Early Middle Ages.

The reserve celebrates the work of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds from 19th to the 22nd August, showcasing the work of the charity in different landscapes and protecting hundreds of species across England.

The summer programme concludes on the Bank Holiday Weekend, with the Nottinghamshire Day Festival at Sherwood and the brilliant Sherwood Outlaws staging their performance of the legends of Robin Hood.

In addition to the main arena shows, there will be music, magic, circus skills, historical re-enactments and so much more besides across the full programme.
