Slamovision Finale

About

Tuesday 5th December | 2023 | From 6pm
Metronome
Pay what you decide

Join Metronome for this year's Grand Slamovision Finale, a whole evening celebrating spoken word from outstanding poets across the world!

Doors will open at 6 pm, giving you time to look around a photographic exhibition of Women Writers of Nottingham (a partnership between Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature (NUCoL) and Nottingham School of Art & Design) and take part in some creative writing games and challenges with the WRAP Writers and members of NUCoL's Youth Advisory Board.

From 7 pm, the Slamovision Finale begins, co-hosted by Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature's (NUCoL) Hannah Trevarthan and WRAP's Becky Cullen. You'll see the entries from cities of Literature around the world, as well as live performances from last year's winner, Nottingham's Abiọ́dún (Abbey) Abdul and our 2023 champion. Including a showcase of some of our very best local creative talent, we'll be crowning this year's winning poem and city.

Make sure to stick around for an Open Mic Afterparty in the Metronome bar. Co-hosted by WRAP and NUCoL's Speak Easy, you can sign up for a slot on the night. See you there!

The finals are co-hosted by Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature and Curated & Created, NTU's extra-curricular and public arts programme.
