**IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TOMORROW’S EVENTS

From the organisers..

Unfortunately we have had to cancel the live entertainment on the stage tomorrow.

Please be assured, the parade is still going ahead. We will gather at 12pm on Thurland Street and parade to the market square. The Lord Mayor will greet the parade as is custom and we will also have a stall selling shamrock and Irish food.

This decision has not been made lightly but is in the interest of public safety. This is due to adverse weather conditions predicted tomorrow, with strong winds making the stage unsafe. We are sure that many of you will be disappointed by this and the committee shares that disappointment, however public safety should always come first

The 19th annual Nottingham St Patrick's Day parade returns to the city centre. Celebrating the city and region's vibrant Irish community and descendants, in what is now the largest St Paddy's celebration staged in the East Midlands.

Watch the massed parade as it makes its way from Pelham Street in Hockley to the Old Market Square. Starting at 12.15pm and led this year by County Wicklow.

Head to Old Market Square to enjoy a range of Irish and Irish-inspired live music on stage from 11.30am until 4.30pm including traditional Irish dancing, Country and Western from Erin Thompson and band and a headline set full of Irish classics from The Full Shabang.

You can also pick up a traditional Shamrock or tricolor flag, and enjoy a hearty serving of Irish stew at the market.

This event is staged by the Nottingham St Patrick's Day Committee through a programme of year-round fundraising. The event is supported by Nottingham City Council and the Government of Ireland.
