Joe Egan Trio Kick back & relax with Sunday afternoon jazz & meze sessions…

Founder member of Major Ruse, guitarist Joe Egan has performed at Ronnie Scott's, Love Supreme, Manchester Jazz Festival & live on BBC 6Music. Formed in 2022, the Joe Egan Trio is the vehicle for Joe's next step as an artist and improviser. For Joe, music is the meeting point. Music is the medium by which we can acknowledge each other.

Taking everything Joe has learned playing as a solo artist, with modern jazz quartet Major Ruse and running his jam session 'Perkalater', this new venture allows music to be created spontaneously, in the moment, for that particular audience, in that particular place. It fully embraces the temporal fleetingness of life. Joe has performed at Ronnie Scott's, Love Supreme, Manchester Jazz Festival, Lancaster Jazz Festival, live on BBC 6Music, has written and released music with Major Ruse, Jack Wolff, Ty Healey, Hugh Pascall and many more as well as solo work and work with Joe Egan Trio.

Joe's passion is for improvising. He first pursued this in rock and pop bands as a teenager before studying jazz at Leeds College of Music. Since graduating he has formed jazz/rock/hip-hop band Major Ruse and started 'Perkalater', the only monthly free improv night in Nottingham.
