Southwell Minster
Tickets - FREE
On Sunday 5 June, the West Walk in the grounds of Southwell Minster will play host to an open-to-all street party as part of nationwide celebrations celebrating the platinum jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.
People are encouraged to bring their families, friends and picnics and join us. A limited number of tables and chairs will be positioned down the West Walk, and so people may wish to bring their own rugs or chairs and join in the festivities as we celebrate 70 years of our monarch's reign.
There'll be musical entertainment, including a brass band (Essentially Brass), as well as some games (Hook-A-Duck etc.) organised by Southwell & District Lions Club, and an array of food and drink stalls run by some of the independent local businesses from the area including Ice and Tipsy Bar and BSweet. More entertainment and stallholders to be announced soon.
Feel free to wear Union Jack attire, or anything red, white and/or blue if you wish.
The Minster's bells will play the national anthem at 12noon to kick off the celebrations. In the case of bad weather, the party will take place inside, in the Nave of the Minster.
This event is being run in partnership with Southwell Town Council.
