The Curious Cabaret is an incredible evening of legerdemain, laughter and libations; astonishing magic, hilarious antics, and delicious food and drinks – the perfect night out, hosted by Member of The Magic Circle, Chris Wilder.
Established in 2018, the show can be seen every month in Nottingham but also travels around the UK for private performances, creating lasting memories of amazement and wonder for audiences. The Curious Cabaret seek to champion and celebrate the art and performance of magic, showcasing the best and the breadth that magic has to offer.
If you always thought that the art of magic was just camera tricks or staged reactions then prepare to have your world turned upside down. Each month, the Curious Cabaret showcases professional magicians from around the UK and Europe who excel in their areas of magical expertise, demonstrating feats of mind reading, sleight of hand, visual magic, comedy and illusion.
Line up:
Chris Wilder – Two-thirds professional wizard, one-quarter magical idiot, and the remaining three-eighths mathematical genius, Chris Wilder is a Member of The Magic Circle with a love of time travel, obscure movie trivia, and cups of tea. Your host for the evening, Chris will put you put you at ease and guide you through the evening of magic, perhaps with some magical buffoonery thrown in for good measure.
Sam Fletcher – Mixing stand-up with physical comedy and magic, Sam Fletcher brings his original and unique flavour to this month's line up at The Curious Cabaret. Whether it is a dance involving an invisible dog, swallowing needles (and then regurgitating them back up) or making tea in the most inventive way, Sam will leave you in hysterics with his impressive illusions.
"No other show has made me smile so much this year" ★★★★ Independent
"D" The Psychic Vampire – You best bring your garlic this month… as the Curious Cabaret will also be joined by "D" The Psychic Vampire. Featured in Comedy Central's "13 Tricks To Seriously Freak You Out" and seen worldwide on BBC3, Fox, The Discovery Channel and more starring in the award-winning BBC shows "Killer Magic" and "Meet The Humans".
With a tongue as pointed as his boots and a sense of humour as dark as his wardrobe, D can give the impression he's stepped right out of a Grimm fairytale, but don't get the wrong idea – he's got a lighter, frivolous side. Just look at the hat collection.
