Broadway Cinema

Who doesn't love a good mystery? And by extension, who doesn't love the sleuth who comes in, sorts through the pieces of the puzzle and brings justice in their wake. From Edgar Allen Poe's Dupin and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes to modern detectives like Kurt Wallander and Vera Stanhope, the literary detective has formed the heart of one of the most enduring and popular genres in fiction. And where literature goes, film is sure to follow. We'll be looking at the best and brightest detectives to make their way from the page to the silver screen and the cases that have tried their 'little grey cells'.

(No session on Wed 11 June, final session is Wed 16 July)

Tutor: Kenton Hall

Duration: 10 weeks
