The Royal Lancers - Freedom of Nottingham Parade
Saturday 28 June 2025 | Parade starts at 11.40am
High Pavement to Old Market Square
The Royal Lancers (Queen Elizabeths’ Own) will exercise their freedom of the town of Nottingham.
The Royal Lancers have recently returned from several operations, including Operation ELGIN in Kosovo, Operation TOSCA in Cyprus and Operation CABRIT in Poland. Taking place in the heartland of their recruiting area, the parade follows time-old tradition whereby regiments of the British Army are granted ‘freedom of the city’ to mark their return from operations.
To mark the occasion, the Regiment will conduct a formal parade in No. 2 Dress with lances through the centre of Nottingham. Following a service at St Mary's Church, the military contingent will muster on High Pavement and march to Old Market Square.
Members of the public are welcome to watch the parade at any point along the route.
