Thoresby’s connection to art developed when the late Thoresby estate owner, Lady Rozelle Raynes opened Thoresby Pierrepont Gallery to celebrate her Mother’s life work and that of other local artists. Now an annual event in the gallery, Thoresby Open Exhibition runs throughout the month of September, offering local artists an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work in the hope of winning the Open Exhibition prize. Visitors and a panel of judges are able to pick their favourite piece from the exhibition, with the artists of the two runner up pieces, winning a shared exhibition in June 2018- Winners' Exhibition. Our Winners' Exhibition artists for 2018 and showcasing their work are Chelsie Jolliffe and Sandy Bartle; we can't wait to see their work!
