Six Pilgrims Sailing!

Before embarking on their infamous journey across the Atlantic Ocean over 400 years ago, the Mayflower Pilgrims started life in some of the market towns and villages of Bassetlaw district in north Nottinghamshire.

Situated in the pretty village of Barnby Moor, near Retford, you’ll find Ye Olde Bell charming 17th Century coaching inn passionately restored throughout, with traditional period features, antiques and rich furnishings. There’s nowhere like Ye Olde Bell at this special time of year and it is the perfect venue however you celebrate. 

Just a few miles down the road in the tranquil village of Blyth you’ll find Hodsock Priory, a historic country house set in 800 acres of countryside. This beautiful family home has been restored and is now an exclusive luxury wedding and events venue. The gardens will open in February for the annual Snowdrops at Hodsock event where you can see 12 acres of snowdrop covered woodland and explore five acres of formal gardens. This outdoor spectacular takes all visitors to the heart of the Snowdrops woods.  This really is an event not to miss.
