The Romantic poet Lord Byron is one of Nottinghamshire’s best-known lords. As well as being an innovative writer he is also known around the world for his revolutionary activity and many lovers. His ancestral home was the magnificent Newstead Abbey and he lived there between 1808 and 1814.

You can dine like a lord or lady at Nicholson's Bar and Diner which is at Nottingham's luxurious Hilton Hotel. This city centre restaurant offers visitors a sophisticated dining experience, with carefully-prepared dishes and indulgent cocktails.
