It's time to banish all those jumpers, scarves and boots  because spring is finally on the way. And if you're in need of some inspiration for the coming season then make sure you go along to 48 Hours of Fashion which returned to the city with plenty of fresh styles from all your favourite high street brands and independent retailers. The catwalk shows take place in the heart of the city, in a specially-constructed marquee in the Old Market Square. Each hour, you can watch a fabulous fashion show featuring the best independent labels, including Stick and Ribbon, as well as vintage and high street brands such as Jigsaw, Ted Baker and Next. Earlier today, I joined my colleagues Kinga Kapias and Elle Taylor to watch one of the shows. The venue was packed and after an introduction by Gem 106 FM's Sam and Amy, the lights went down and show started - and what a show it was. Each scene in this wonderfully-choreographed show was inspired by a Nottingham landmark or event, including the romantic Wollaton Hall, the fun-filled Splendour and the atmospheric Light Night. A personal highlight for me was the sporting events scene which showed the models, resplendent in Breton strips, against a a photograph from the Milk Race, held in Nottingam. Meanwhile, Kinga and Elle were equally impressed with the show. Kinga said: "The show was prepared with a lot of attention to detail; the models had amazing dancing skills and the combination of sound, lights and images displayed in the background made the experience memorable. "I would recommend the show to all age groups, not only young people who are interested in fashion, but also to older age groups as it’s a great experience and it will certainly give everyone some style ideas." And Elle added: "The fashion show was fantastic! I particularly loved the way the themes were all inspired by Nottingham such as Splendour Festival and Wollaton Hall. I really enjoyed it and am already looking forward to next year's event." 48 Hours of Fashion continues tomorrow (Saturday). Further details on the event, including show times, are available on the website. Don't forget to post your pictures to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest using the hashtag #Fashion48.
