30 Bars & Brewers sign up for first Nottingham Craft Beer Week

Nottingham Craft Beer Week organisers are celebrating news that 30 venues have signed up to ‘promote and develop Nottingham’s love for craft beer’. Between Monday 15^th June and Sunday June 21^st, Nottingham’s bars, bottle shops and breweries will be staging events to celebrate the city’s inaugural Craft Beer Week. As well as city centre venues such as Annie’s Burger Shack, Brew Cavern, Brewdog, Canalhouse, The Crafty Crow, Junkyard and The Ned Ludd, bars and bottle shops in the suburbs of Beeston, Sherwood and West Bridgford are taking part. Rye, Beer Dock and Hopology are among those staging events with local breweries such as Navigation, Black Iris, Totally Brewed and national breweries including Beavertown, Thornbridge, Adnams and Oakham Ales. It's not just English breweries taking part: Yeastie Boys are one of seven New Zealand Brewers in town along with craft brews from Italy, Spain, Denmark as well as the brewing giants of Belgium and Germany. Event organiser and owner of Junkyard Bottle Shop and Pour House, Nigel Garlick commented: “Nottingham has a thriving independent bar scene and there's a really positive vibe at the moment where bar managers and owners are keen to collaborate and work together. It's been a very uplifting experience seeing how keen venues are to demonstrate their passion for craft beers. It has to begin with the bars and bottle shops taking the lead, promoting events such as those being staged this week, and we are confident our customers will appreciate what's on offer. It's a perfect time to visit the city and experience first-hand what all the hype surrounding craft beer is about.” Nottingham will be the first of the East Midland’s three major cities to stage their own Craft Beer Week. As well as a welcome addition to the diaries of Nottingham residents, Nottingham Craft Beer Week will add a further dimension to visitors to the city:  NCBW will run alongside the Trent Bridge One Day International v New Zealand and Nottingham Cycle Live weekend.
