It's USA Independence Day and to celebrate the 4th July a little closer to home, here's some of Nottingham's best independent shops. Southwell  The picturesque town is famous for it's iconic Minster. but also boasts a thriving high street of charming shops, completely unique to the the town. The gifts and homewares on sale in A Fly Went By are as good as their prize-winning window displays and Mr and Mrs Fine Wine has a choice of over 200 wines and spirits to browse through. Don't forget to stop in to Reg Taylor's Garden Centre - the 25 acre site is full of beautiful things for your home and garden. Newark The bustling market town is full of quirky shops, including highly reputed antique centres, the only remaining independent bookshop in the area and specialist drink stores in the Real Ale Store and Anne et Vin for an extra special bottle of something.
