West Bridgford

About

This Nottingham suburb has taken up a whole life of its own and the close location of the major sporting grounds (Trent Bridge, National Water Sports Centre and Nottingham Forest's City Ground) mean that this area can be a hive of activity.

As you head along Radcliffe Road directly adjacent to the cricket ground, you'll find a few bars and cafes, including the Southbank Bar and the world famous Trent Bridge Inn which is attached to the ground. Around the back of the cricket ground seek out the Larwood and Voce pub for excellent food and real ales.

Heading deeper into the area Central Avenue is the main place for shops and bars or restaurants with venues like the Monkey Tree and Copper Bar Cafe and the Lady Bay area provides the Natonal Water Sports Centre and some excellent residential estates.

Only around a mile from Nottingham City Centre, West Bridgford provides a very local and friendly feel, it wasn't uncommon back in the day to find a certain Mr Brian Clough in the local paper shop! Definitely worth a visit whether you're a sports fan or not.
