About

National Holocust Museum
FREE Event | Standard Museum Entry Applies (£10 Adults | £9 Concessions | £7.50 Children)

Head to the National Holocaust Museum at 11am for a special curatorial event focusing on the 88th anniversary of the Kindertransport.

The Kindertransport began in December 1938 and rescued 9,354, mainly Jewish children who were sent to countries such as Britain to escape Nazi antisemitism. Using a range of survivor testimony, artefacts, and replicas, we will epxlore the persecution which Jewish people faced in 1930s Nazi Germany, retell the horrific events on the November Pogrom in 1938 and consider the brave decision parents made to send their children on the Kindertransport.

Pre-recorded Testimony at 1pm

At 1pm we will be showing the video testimony of Steven Mendelsson who travelled to the UK on the Kindertransport in March 1939.
