Lydia Farina's talk 'Ada Lovelace' is part of the Byron Bicentenary commemorations.
Lydia Farina is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Arts at Nottingham University. A philosophy academic, her research focusses on the philosophy of mind, metaphysics and the philosophy of artificial intelligence.
Lydia will be talking about Ada Lovelace, daughter of Lord and Lady Byron, who is famous for her work on Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine. Often referred to as the first programmer, Ada was the first to person to recognise that computers had much more potential than just for mathematical calculation.
