Set in Michigan's rust belt in 2024, Born In The USA follows Vietnam veteran Jimmy Vandenburg as he grapples with economic decline, political disillusionment, and personal trauma.
Inspired by Springsteen's iconic anthem, the play explores how populist rhetoric lures the forgotten and fractured—driving wedges between loved ones and beliefs. With moments of humour, heartbreak, and reconciliation, this critically acclaimed drama unpacks the emotional cost of conviction and the hope of healing.
Visceral, timely and deeply human, it's a powerful portrait of a man questioning everything he thought he stood for.
'An extraordinary tour de force, both uplifting and devastating in equal measure' ***** Reviews Hub
'A gripping piece of theatre that should be experienced by all generations … a compelling, heart-wrenching tale of a man who thought he was doing the right thing and now questions his actions'. ***** Edinburgh Fringe Review
