Bramley Apple Festival 2020

About

Monday 19 -  Saturday 24 October 2020
Southwell

Every October, Southwell holds The Bramley Festival to celebrate the origins of the Bramley Apple in Southwell.

The Bramley Festival celebrates the origins of the Bramley Apple which was first grown in Southwell. The Bramley Apple is famous and much loved throughout the world for its unique flavour and excellent cooking qualities. It remains one of the most widely grown British culinary apples.

This year’s Bramley Festival has been adapted for the unusual times

Instead of focusing most of the events on a single day the organisers are preparing for a week-long Festival which will enable the local community and visitors to the town to be socially distanced throughout the week leading up to Saturday October 24. Please note that Southwell Minster is unable to hold the food and drink fair this year.

Attractions will include:

Apple themed shop window displays
Apple themed shop window trail competition
Apple display in Southwell Library along with the sale of Bramley apples and bottled juice
Apple themed products and produce in the shops
Apple themed refreshments in local cafes, restaurants and pubs
Online video with cookery demonstration and information about the Bramley Apple in Southwell
Bramley Apple heritage walks
Live music in the town centre on Saturday 24 October
