Every October, Southwell holds The Bramley Festival to celebrate the origins of the Bramley Apple in Southwell.

The Bramley Festival celebrates the origins of the Bramley Apple which was first grown in Southwell. The Bramley Apple is famous and much loved throughout the world for its unique flavour and excellent cooking qualities. It remains one of the most widely grown British culinary apples.

At Southwell Library (open - 10am - 5pm) find the amazing entries to the Apple Art Draw displayed! Make sure to stick around for the hugely anticipated crowning of Apple King, Queen, Prince, and Princess at 3pm, and at 4pm, the ceremony for the Poetry Competition!

At Southwell Minster (open 10am - 4pm), find dozens of stallholders offering all manner of food and drink including pies, chocolates, jams, chutneys, pickles, sausages and much much more and once again this year we'll be having live cookery demonstrations.

Exciting news just in: Chef Laurence Henry, Masterchef The Professionals winner 2018, will be joining us & providing a demo. + The Apple Doctor returns! Bring your apples from your garden to be ID'd by our apple expert.

Throughout Southwell there is plenty going on, with Bramley Apple Themed Shop Window Displays, Apple Themed Refreshments at local eateries, and Bramley Apple produce within local shops. Also, don't miss the chance to see for yourself the original Bramley Apple Tree (open 11am - 3pm)

So join us for the region's favourite food and drink fair on Saturday 23 October. See you there!
