Gabriel Latchin Trio
British pianist Gabriel Latchin returns to Peggy's Skylight to release his eagerly awaited 4th record, Viewpoint. An artist with 30 million streams to date, this evening's performance will feature a new trio comprising highly-acclaimed drummer Steve Brown and first-call bassist Jeremy Brown. "An excellent musician and one hell of a nice guy" - Christian McBride
Now a major highlight on the UK jazz scene, The Gabriel Latchin Trio take inspiration from Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson and Herbie Hancock. Recorded with highly-acclaimed drummer Joe Farnsworth (NYC), Viewpoint is the trio's fourth album, including all original, straight-ahead compositions for the first time. For this evening's performance Latchin will be joined by first-call musicians Jeremy Brown on bass and Steve Brown on drums.
With thousands of albums sold and 30 million streams, Latchin's international presence is growing fast. Recently awarded four stars in both The Times and The Guardian, the trio has also been featured in DownBeat (USA) and Jazz Japan.
