Now in its fifth year, Broxtowe Borough Council’s popular Green Festival returns to Coronation Park, Eastwood. The event offers a fun and accessible afternoon packed with family-friendly activities, practical ideas for helping the environment and opportunities to discover local green initiatives.

Visitors can explore a wide variety of stalls and free activities, with local traders, charities, community groups and organisations providing interactive activities, demonstrations and expert advice. A selection of food vendors will also be on hand, serving hot and cold food, tasty treats and drinks, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Highlights will include:

• Preloved clothes, shoes, books and toys
• Mary Broddle’s embroidery and sewing repair sessions
• Free face painting by Eileen C
• A pedal-powered paint-spinning bike
• Free, fun and sustainable family activities
• Energy-saving and wildlife advice
• The return of the popular Dog Show for 2026
• The Waste and Recycling Team, with the opportunity to sit in one of their trucks
• Second-hand bike sales, minor servicing and repair advice
• An observation hive, with activities and information about bees and beekeeping
• Bird-related information and activities, including dragonfly making
