The Kindertransport was created to help Jewish children leave Germany, Austria and eventually Czechoslovakia between December 1938 and September 1939 to escape Nazi violence and persecution. What can we learn about The Kindertransport from the people who experienced it?

Join an educator led tour of The Journey, talking in depth about the life of Leo, a twelve year old German Jewish boy who's life was changed when the Nazis took over his country. The tour will include the chance to explore our immersive exhibition, transporting you into the year 1938. With the help of our expert educators, interactive testimony and the chance to get your hands on history, you will see how even children's lives were changed forever by the Nazis and those that agreed with them.

This event is appropriate for ages 9+.

After the tour there will be a chance to hold and explore items from the time that link to the Kindertransport. These objects will help us to explore the real life stories of the children who travelled to Britain to try and find safety.

Hand On History tour is available on Monday's- 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th August. See website to book your space.

Other tours of The Journey available throughout summer. See website for details
