James Hudson has all of the charming qualities that epitomise the 21st century jazz singer and is one of the most sought-after jazz & big band singers in the UK. Fresh from doing his second sell-out show at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, James brings his fantastic 7 piece band to Peggy's which features on his critically acclaimed new album MOONRAY. This album takes great inspiration from the work of George Shearing and Mel Torme – and has gained exceptional reviews (BBC Music Magazine, 4stars in Jazzwise Magazine and The Guardian) and was performed live on BBC Radio 3.
James regularly performs at world renowned venues with orchestras, big bands and his ensemble at venues such as Pizza Express Jazz Club, The EFG London Jazz Festival and Crazy Coqs.
For this show, you can expect to hear songs from MOONRAY as well as his debut album TOMORROW which features many popular standards. James has an immense adoration for these timeless jazz standards of The Great American Songbook and prides himself in being one of the young jazz musicians carrying the mantle to ensure these songs continue to live on.
"Following in the footsteps of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Mel Tormé – James Hudson doesn't try to step into their shoes but remains true to himself and the song." – Bebop Spoken Here
