John Robertson: The Dark Room

About

Thursday 28 May 2026 | 7.30pm
Nottingham Arts Theatre
Tickets: £15

Now in its 13th year and with sold-out runs at Edinburgh Fringe, Soho Theatre and hundreds of venues worldwide, The Dark Room is the legendary interactive comedy show that fuses improv, crowd work and live-action gaming into one gloriously unhinged experience.

Created by comedian and self-styled cult leader John Robertson, the show traps the audience inside an inescapable dungeon, pitting them against a sadistic videogame boss, picking surreal options off the screen, chanting, failing spectacularly and occasionally winning actual money.

Having headlined Glastonbury, Download Festival, MCM Comic Con and beyond, and gone viral across TikTok and Instagram, this is a genuine cult phenomenon.

"An hilarious, participatory cult classic" Neil Patrick Harris.
"A Rocky Horror for nerds… reader, I howled" The Telegraph.
"NOT TO BE MISSED" The Guardian.

Winner of the Chortle Award and runner-up at the NextUp Biggest Award in Comedy, The Dark Room is a gut-busting rock 'n' roll comedy experience unlike anything else on tour and if you win, you get money. If you fail? Ya die.
