A musical visionary, whose story is one of the most fascinating in 20th-century culture, Miles Davis opened the door and led the way for countless musicians and music fans into the world of jazz.

Following their acclaimed project A Sketch of Chet, this accomplished quartet now turn their creative energy towards honouring one of the 20th century's most influential artists. Trumpeter Thom Whitworth (Djanco, Funk in Deep Freeze) completes a stellar line-up featuring Paul Deats (Me & Mr. Jones, Trio Manteca) on piano, Stevie Smith (Jazz Heritage Quintet) on drums, and Simon Paterson (Sharp Little Bones, Electric Gumbo) on bass.

Expect a captivating musical journey through Miles' ever-evolving career: from the cool swing of Four, All Blues and Flamenco Sketches, to tender ballads like It Never Entered My Mind and Stella by Starlight, through to stylish interpretations of fusion-era classics such as In a Silent Way and Tutu.
With urbane sophistication and a focus on melody and groove, these musicians, who regularly perform at Peggy's Skylight, bring this musical journey through Miles' career to life through engaging stories, compelling musical arrangements and a shared love for the incredible body of work that Miles left for us all to enjoy.

Line up:

Thom Whitworth – trumpet

Paul Deats – piano

Stevie Smith – drums
