Nottingham’s European Arts festival returns in 2016, building on the success of neat 14 and previous events.
This year the festival will have a literary theme, recognising Nottingham’s successful bid for UNESCO City of Literature, and will profile Nottingham as an innovative, creative European city.
Venues and partners confirmed so far include Lakeside Arts, Nottingham Playhouse, New Art Exchange, Nottingham Contemporary, Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall, National Videogames Arcade, Highfields Park, Chase Centre Renewals Trust, Beeston Library, Bromley House Library, Dance4, Broadway and City Arts.
Highlights include the David Jones exhibition at Lakeside Arts Centre, a new interpretation of Tolstoy’s War & Peace, the Wheee! children’s festival and an artist takeover of Sneinton Market. It will feature dance, theatre, literature, music, visual arts, film, digital media and spoken word – celebrating the city’s diverse offer with something for everyone.
Copies of the neat 16 programme can be picked up from the Nottingham Tourism Centre as well as from participating venues
