An unmissable session foraging in the 35 acre estate followed by open fire cooking in the beautiful surroundings of Hanwell Wine Estate. Spend your time learning some of the most valuable bushcraft skills – Foraging, fire lighting, and open cooking. Our expert bushcraft tutor Martin will give you an insight into his vast knowledge of bushcraft survival.
What you will learn:
Different fire lighting methods
Foraging safety and legal aspects.
Identifying plants, describing uses, and collecting as you go to use in cooking.
Prepare and cook on your open fire to make nettle soup, nettle pesto, fresh pasta and a nettle and garlic flatbread
By learning new skills and survival methods, you will take away valuable tips, tricks and knowledge. Nothing beats cooking on an open fire, enjoying the outdoors, and getting back to nature.
Everything included nothing to bring just yourself. You will be outside come rain or shine so dress appropriately for the weather. (under a gazebo if needed)
Outline of your session:
Welcome with refreshments. Introduction to tutor Martin, orientation and health and safety
Start off around the estate foraging
Get hands-on building your fire and preparing your forage
Enjoy your cooking experience and eating your freshly prepared produce.
