"I have seen Lisa Marini perform several times at different venues, as a solo artist and with different backing musicians. The thing that is a constant is that Lisa is spell-binding and mesmerising. Her self-penned songs are achingly melodic and artfully delivered. Her oeuvre is not soul but is totally soulful, it`s not jazz but is cat-like cool, it is not country, but she has global appeal. Lisa Marini is a delight to the ears and eyes…a joy to the senses." - Paul Latham | LIVE NATION COO UK & Ireland
Lisa brings a refreshing authenticity to her songs and performances, combining beautifully crafted songs, infectious guitar picking and a defiant voice. Her music has been described as a progressive fusion of dark folk with elements of jazz.
She has performed on the main stage at Wilderness festival, at the 02 for the Blues fest and in some of London's most prestigious venues, including The Jazz Café, Ronnie Scotts, The Green Note and The St Pancras old church.
In 2014 she self-recorded her first EP, From The Bedroom Den. The EP was used for a documentary about refugees in New Zealand. Her single 'Let it Live' was chosen by Soundnet to play in jukeboxes across the country.
Lisa Marini's debut album 'Born in Tribes' will be released in the Spring of 2020. The release will coincide with an immersive visual performance that will take the audience through the story of the album, one of healing, growth and acceptance.
