What is Sunday Morning Piano?
Enjoy an hour of great music in the company of some of the most exciting stars of the piano. Our Sunday Morning Piano series offers a rich mix of classic works and rare gems, from Chopin to Ethel Smyth. Ticket price includes tea, coffee and cake before or after the concert.

Described as possessing one of the 'most gifted minds', Andrei Korobeinikov opens our 2023-24 Sunday Piano Series with four works that tested their composers to their extremes. One of his last sonatas, Beethoven's Op. 110 features a dramatic finale that rebuilds from a poignant expression of grief, to a joyous celebration of life. Chopin's second Scherzo shows him at his brilliant best: big and brawny, it's filled with magical coloration. Scriabin's poetic second Sonata took all his patience to compose, resulting in what he considered his best work. Including a mischievous quote from God Save the King in Mr Pickwick, Andrei's selection from Debussy's atmospheric Préludes ends with Bastille Day fireworks.
