The Paul Farr Band
A familiar face as guitarist with Kyla Brox; also with Hot Chocolate, Lily Allen, Tom Jones, Corinne-Bailey Rae & Joss Stone. Tonight featuring Hammond ace, Joe Tatton, Cinematic Orchestra's Luke Flowers on drums, and Manchester stalwart Huw Jacob on bass.
Originally from Nottingham but now long term resident of Manchester, Paul has worked as a professional guitarist for over thirty years. Originally working as a session musician he has played for artists such as Tom Jones, Lily Allen, Errol Brown, Joss Stone amongst others.
Moving away from the session world, more recently he has split his time between touring and recording with blues star Kyla Brox and also working on his own material. His original instrumental tunes are influenced by jazz, blues and funk and focus heavily on improvisation from every member of the band.
The band has played regularly around the North West jazz scene for several years now and released the album 'Thinking Big' in 2010. A new album is due next year!
With a great pool of musicians in Manchester 'The Paul Farr Band' has had some amazing line ups including at one point Queens bass player Neil Fairclough, bass player Sylvan Richardson from Simply Red and trumpet legend Neil Yates.
The long term members include drummer Luke Flowers (Cinematic Orchestra), Huw Jacob on bass and with a new addition of Joe Tatton on Hammond adding some serious weight to the sound.
