The Stevie Watts Organ Trio feat. Alice Armstrong
Outstanding players with great songs that make you dance as well as cry (in a good way!) "Lovin' this soul jazz sound, really lovin' it!" - Craig Charles (Funk & Soul Show BBC6)
"Best album I've heard this year by a mile!" "It's an understated monster!" – Jason Elliott – GB Rhythm & Blues Festival
The Stevie Watts Organ Trio are all highly regarded session players having individually worked with names ranging from Secret Affair, Steve Winwood, Archive to The Spice Girls.
Add in the powerhouse vocal stylings of Alice Armstrong, and you have four musicians that perform from the heart. "We just play what we wanna play and each performance has something different to offer". Influences come mainly from sixties soul, funk, blues and soul jazz.
The fire and energy in the sound that these three make defies the fact that they're a trio and when Alice joins them they turn into something that no other band using this format with organ bass sounds like. Take outstanding players with great songs that make you dance as well as cry (in a good way!), include infectious funk and rip-roaring solos and you have something that you would be absolutely crazy to miss!
Line up:
Stevie Watts – organ
Alice Armstrong – vocals
Nat Martin – guitar
Martin Magic Johnson – drums
