Trudgeon's Trad Jazz Troubadours
Started by Joseph Trudgeon as a cross generational project, Trudgeon's Trad Jazz Troubadours philosophy is based around bringing young and old jazz musicians and their audience together whilst preserving some of the musical traditions of early 20th century jazz.
Regularly seen around the country they can be found delighting the young and old at jazz clubs and festivals, pubs, weddings, private parties with their authentic brand of traditional jazz.
Their line up includes a who's who of jazz musicians from the southwest and south east. Some members have been playing traditional jazz around the circuit for 40+ years and are still very much at the top of their games, others are from a younger generation than the original trad jazz revivalists but have an equal amount of love and care for this old music as their elders.
Joseph Trudgeon, the band's leader and sings. Joseph plays in a score of jazz and blues bands playing guitar and bass, including the current line up of The Big Chris Barber band, The Gin Bowlers, The Old Malt House Jazz Band and The Clay Bottom Jug Busters, The Mudd Club, and The Swamp Puppies.
2024 saw them release their first album, their second record was released in 2025 featuring some guests from the USA. So far in 2026 they have released 2 more records, and took part in The Jazz at the Duke Live album produced in Bristol.
