Yuko Yokoi Band

Yuko Yokoi Band brings the sophisticated yet warm sound of Brazil with a twist of jazz. The singer, Yuko shares her absolute love of Brazilian jazz music. Full of improvisation, light and colour, her delightful interpretations are exquisitely individual. Her minimalistic approach to the music is entirely unique.

"Creative and engaging …. presented with bold clarity" – Jazz Journal UK

"Highly sophisticated" – Jazz Japan Magazine

Yuko Yokoi is a warm and sensitive Jazz and Brazilian singer based in London. She launched her debut Brazilian Jazz album, Verde in Jan 2018 and completed a successful tour in Brazil, Japan, and the UK.
Yuko studied for her Masters in Jazz Performance at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance receiving the TCM Trust and Archers Scholarship. She was also the joint winner of the 6th Angela Carrinton Award, held at the Vortex Jazz Club, London which was judged by the acclaimed jazz singer Ian Shaw.

Yuko has performed at some renowned Jazz clubs including the Pizza Express Soho, 606 Club, The Vortex and The Spice of Life Soho as well as Beco das Garrafas (Rio de Janiro) and JazzB (Sao Paulo). She has played multiple sold-out gigs at Crazy Coqs for the EFG London Jazz Festival and is set to play again this coming November.
