I predict a riot . . . Posh is a must see at Nottingham Playhouse

Theatre and comedy lovers in Nottingham right now should see the hilariously brilliant Posh at Nottingham Playhouse before it leaves town on 28th February. Written by Laura Wade, this satirical play follows the antics of the notorious Riot Club - or Ryatt Club as we later learn - and gives us a glimpse of what happens behind the walls of the quarterly private dining parties of these wealthy students. There's drunken debauchery aplenty as well as  shockingly hilarious tales - and you can almost feel the testosterone bouncing off the walls. As the play unfolds it's not long before you find yourself swaying from laughing along with them to laughing at them. As dinner progresses, the wine flows and the night gets carried away, this pompous lot find themselves in a bigger mess than they can cope with. By the end I was quite pleased they didn’t get away it . . . well not all of them anyway. Their PR and legal expertise shines through however as they manipulate their way through the situation, protecting their reputations along the way and this results in a somewhat unjust end. You don’t have to be a political animal to enjoy Posh, if you are I’m sure you will have a riot of your own analysing the characters and their behaviour. If not you’ll just have a thoroughly great night out as you marvel at the lavish set design, costumes and world class acting we have come to expect at Nottingham's Playhouse.
