The beloved Nottingham Light Night returns this weekend – a fabulous, free event where you can explore the City Centre while seeing some amazing light installations. Once you have explored the City, you can finish with a spot of ice-skating at the Light Night Skate and have boatloads of fun for the whole family. If you fancy something a bit different, why not head over to Broadway and catch Kendal Mountain Tour and be inspired. Or get active and enjoy a walk among the snowdrops or take a Segway tour!

Light Night returns to Nottingham for its 14th year with the theme ‘Rebel City’. This wide-ranging theme looks to explore Nottingham’s heritage as a hotbed of rebellion over the centuries and the way the city looks to do things differently to this very day. You will be able to explore the City Centre for free and see a number of innovative, interactive and engaging light-based installations, performances and activities as you go from one venue to another.

Join the National Ice Centre for a Light Night Skate between 7-9pm. Coloured lights will fill the rink as the fab DJ plays the latest hits, making for a memorable and fun-filled evening of ice-skating. This is the perfect chance to go in neon fancy dress, which is encouraged, and go wild with the UV face paint! Or dress in your brightest clothes – something your little ones will love, and make a night to remember. And don’t forget – concession and family discounts apply, and under 5s skate for free. Pre-booking is recommended but there is contactless payments on the door.

The Best of Kendal Mountain Film Festival

Snowdrop Walks at Belvoir Castle

A perfect day trip for nature-lovers, visit Belvoir Castle and enjoy a ramble amongst the snowdrops in the grounds of the stunning Regency estate. While the castle itself remains closed until March, this picturesque location makes for the perfect romantic walk, or why not practice your photography skills. Thoresby Courtyard offers an adventurous Segway course that will see you take to the twists and turns of this woodland location for a fantastic day out in Nottinghamshire.
