After the stresses and strains of 2020, you’d be forgiven for feeling more scrooge than Santa’s elf this festive season. So, we headed to the brand-new socially-distanced illumination trail at Wollaton Hall to see if it would help us shake of the seasonal blues and embrace the Christmas spirit. Spoiler alert: It's magical. 

A grassroots campaign to support and celebrate all things independent, Small Business Saturday takes place on the first Saturday of December each year. For one day, why not boycott the big brands and bring genuine joy to someone by supporting their enterprises while picking up some great gifts or a treat for yourself in the process.

Lockdown is slowly lifting, but it might still be a while before we can return to our much-loved pubs, cultural venues and attractions, leaving us all with a bit more time to fill. Having been crowned ‘Regional Theatre of the Year’ in 2019, Nottingham Playhouse have set the standard pretty high in the past couple of years. We’re delighted that their latest production Moonlight and Magnolias falls nothing short of the brilliance we’ve come to expect – a laugh-out-loud riot which doesn’t shy away from a sensitive and intelligent discourse on representation within popular culture. 
 

In the digital age, the era of screen time, when being a You Tuber is an actual career aspiration, for me there is absolutely nothing quite like being outdoors, moving, so on a chilly, damp and frankly gloomy January Saturday, we jumped in the car and headed to Conkers to blow away the week and do something for our minds and bodies.
