Just a 15-minute walk from the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, the tree is said to be around 1,000 years old and has been seen by visitors from all over the world - it’s certainly an icon of the area.
If you’re a thrill seeker and fancy a different view of the forest, take on the obstacles high in the treetops at the nearby Go Ape Sherwood. For those who fancy their hand at paintballing, axe and hammer throwing or quad biking, Adrenaline Jungle is the perfect day out.
For a family friendly trip, a short distance away is the Sherwood Forest Railway, Nottinghamshire’s only narrow-gauge steam railway. Discover and enjoy a ride on their collection of small locomotives in the historic village of Edwinstowe.
