Luisa, owner of ‘Luisa’s Vegan Chocolates’, is the only chocolate maker in Nottingham, producing global multi award-winning chocolate at her shop in Sneinton Market, using a traditional artisan process to transform directly-sourced, single-origin cocoa beans from bean-to-bar.
It is clear that Luisa’s chocolate is exceptional in taste and quality, as she recently won Gold at the prestigious ‘Academy of Chocolate Awards 2019’ – an international competition judged by the best experts and restaurant owners in the country such as Michel Roux Snr, co-founder of Michelin-starred Le Gavroche restaurant.
At the ‘Academy of Chocolate Awards’ ceremony in Claridge’s in Mayfair, Luisa also had the honour of being reigned ‘UK Rising Star’, making a visit to her shop a must-have opportunity. “Luisa’s Vegan Chocolates” have something for everyone, with each and every bar and truffle being vegan and made without refined sugar, with no compromise on taste, making her products a healthier, as well as a more ethical, alternative to mass-produced confectionery items.
All the manufacturing of Luisa’s chocolate bars and truffle creations happens at her shop in Sneinton Market, where, once immersed in the wonderful aromas of roasted cocoa, you can see the process for yourself and learn about the craft, giving visitors a real insight into the chocolate maker’s world.
The premium cacao used in each bar is of single origin, in order to preserve the unique tasting notes that arise from each region as cacao beans pick up the flavours of the terrain on which they are cultivated, hence each origin produces bars with distinct flavours, much like a fine wine, from citrus and fruity notes to smoky notes, depending on the region, making chocolate-tasting events delightful, whereby you can learn about the process, discuss tasting profiles and learn about the fundamental differences between chocolate maker and chocolatier, all whilst tantalising your tastebuds with Luisa’s delicacies.
Events:
Chocolate tasting events are available for 4 or more people, which can be booked any day of the week. Tasting events offer a unique experience, allowing visitors to learn about the process, discuss the diverse tasting profiles that arise from each single-origin bar, and learn about the fundamental differences between chocolate maker and chocolatier, all whilst tantalising your tastebuds with Luisa’s delicacies.
