The International Grand Masters hockey festival will be held 29th June to 6th July 2025 at Nottingham Hockey Centre in Beeston. It’s organised by The LX Hockey Club, in celebration of its 30th year, in collaboration with the World Grand Masters Association (WGMA).

The festival will welcome 46 international teams of players aged 60+, including 1,800 players, guests, members, officials and spectators from 14 different countries.

The opening ceremony will be held on Sunday 29th June at 5.30pm and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the celebration. The Deputy Lord Lieutenant, The Sherriff of Nottingham, local Paralympic Gold Medallist, Richard Whitehead MBE, and the Sherwood Outlaws will also be attending, to meet and speak to hockey veterans from around the world.

The international festival is being hosted in Nottingham this year to celebrate The LX Club’s 30th anniversary, having previously been hosted in Barcelona, Spain (2022), Bra, Italy (2023) and The Hague, Netherlands (2024). The national LX Hockey Club organises matches, tournaments, events and tours for its veteran hockey members, with many players based in the East Midlands.

During the week, as well as the tournament, visitors will be treated to an archery competition, appearances from Robin Hood and Maid Marian, a Latin Fiesta party at Revolucion de Cuba and a fish & chip supper with the Ripley Morris dancers!
