Whether you want to learn something new using a pen and ink before, or just simply love beautiful handwriting, this modern calligraphy taster workshop will be perfect for you. Experienced tutor, Jane, will guide you through some of the unique stroke & alphabet practices. It is a relaxed workshop and suitable for left or right handed people and those who are at the beginning their calligraphy journey.
The workshop will take place in the 100sqm converted craft barn with stunning views of the open Nottinghamshire countryside of Hanwell Wine Estate. The setting provides the perfect space to relax and engage in your passion while learning new useful skills.
Who is the workshop for: No prior knowledge is required, this course is designed for beginners or those wishing to learn the art of calligraphy.
What is included: Refreshments and equipment are provided
What you need to bring: Nothing to bring – just yourself!
Outline of the day:
An introduction with a welcome tea & coffee
Learn how to hold and use the pen correctly
Learn how to use a dip pen & ink correctly how to use a dip pen and ink
Morning refreshments
Learn and practice the basic strokes before moving onto the alphabet
Time will then be spent developing words and your own style
Gain tips, ideas and inspiration from a practicing and experienced calligrapher
