Join this creative one day workshop and make Phoebe, a lovable 5.5" mohair collectors bear. Located in the 100sqm art and craft barn you will find a relaxing space to work while taking in the beautiful surrounding views of Hanwell Wine Estate. Expert tutor Gaye she will take you through step by step to make Phoebe who is fully jointed made in a traditional way. You then have an option to knit her a dress and pants at home or buy one ready made from Gaye.
What you will make - A 5.5" bear with traditional fabrics, joints and eyes, using a a combination of machine and hand sewing. Learning lots of tricks of the trade to help you make your lovely traditional style cuddly companion.
Who is the workshop suitable for -Suitable for anyone confident with a sewing machine to sew using a normal straight stitch. A small amount of hand stitching is required. This workshop is not suitable for people with dexterity or shoulder problems as stuffing is involved. Due to Phoebes size you will be working with very small parts.

What you will need to bring -
You will need your own sewing machine.
General sewing equipment.
Glass headed pins (coloured tops)
Small sharpe scissors ( recommended Fiskars embroidery scissors or 13cm needlework scissors)
Beige or mid grey sewing cotton for your sewing machine
Approximately 6 to 8"flat ended screwdriver
Small needle nosed pliers
Awl ( ball point blue handled one by clover)
Thimble if you use one.
Glasses if you wear them
Phone/camera
Please note - The tutor will have some items for sale or to borrow in case you are unable to source the above things yourself. Needles will be available to buy but not borrow. This bear is not suitable for children under the age of 14 due to the components used in it.
