"All animals are equal. But some animals are more equal than others."
On a farm run by a cruel and neglectful master, the animals rise up and seize control, dreaming of a world where every creature is free and equal. But as new leaders emerge and the rules quietly start to change, the revolution begins to look very familiar. George Orwell's timeless fable of power, propaganda and betrayal is brought vividly to life in Tatty Hennessy's bold and inventive adaptation.
This production marks a milestone for Nottingham Arts Theatre Youth Group: its first full-scale youth play on the main stage since the group was reborn in 2019. The cast is led by young performers from the theatre's LAMDA Acting sessions, joined by fellow youth group members. They bring energy, imagination and real conviction to one of literature's most powerful stories. It promises to be a gripping afternoon or evening of theatre from some of Nottingham's most exciting emerging talent.
