Suntou Susso – The Future Is Ancestral. Intimate solo kora master Suntou Susso blends ancient Griot tradition with modern fire. Experience new album Jaliya Silokang: heritage, unity, ecology, ancestral wisdom, hypnotic strings, powerful voice, unforgettable atmosphere live.

He was the master of a magical evening—one of those rare ones that make people remember their better selves." – Mayfest in the Woods

"A most ambitious and sprawling album that uses its many threads brilliantly and evocatively, cementing Suntou Susso's reputation as a burgeoning star and virtuoso of the Griot form and the kora." – Monolith Cocktail

Step into a spellbinding live experience with Suntou Susso, master of the kora and one of the most exciting contemporary voices emerging from the West African Griot tradition.

The kora, a 22-string harp passed down through generations, carries centuries of Mandinka history, spirituality and storytelling. Born into a revered Gambian Griot family, Suntou is both a guardian of this ancient lineage and a fearless innovator, shaping new musical pathways while honouring the roots beneath his feet.

This solo tour showcases music from his acclaimed second album, Jaliya Silokang – The Path of a Griot, alongside powerful new compositions and reimagined traditional pieces. These performances are more than concerts. They are immersive journeys. Audiences are invited into themes of ancestry, belonging, ecology, resilience and connection, guided by the shimmering strings of the kora and Suntou's rich, expressive voice. Each show unfolds as a shared ritual: intimate, uplifting and deeply human.

Fresh from years of international touring and creative exploration, Suntou brings rare stage presence and emotional intensity to every performance. Whether you are discovering the kora for the first time or returning as a long-time listener, this is music that resonates in the body, stirs the heart and lingers long after the final note fades.

The Future Is Ancestral is a celebration of where we come from and where we are heading. Ancient knowledge meets modern spirit. Tradition meets transformation. Expect an unforgettable evening of sound, story and soul.

"The Path of a Griot… flows through Susso as a grounded, rhythmic, and communal story. On this record, groove is the message, and movement is to be carried to the heart" – The Jazz Word
