Part of their regular 'Tribute to Blue Note Records' programme: the music of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers features compositions by Benny Golson, Kenny Dorham, Bobby Timmons, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard & Hank Mobley

"Founded in 1939 by Alfred Lion, Blue Note Records is loved, respected, and revered as one of the most important record labels in the history of music. Blue Note Records are designed to serve the uncompromising expressions of hot jazz or swing. Direct and honest hot jazz is a way of feeling, a musical and social manifestation"

Performing the music made famous by Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers. The Quintet was formed in 2012 by Stevie Smith to challenge and inspire like-minded musicians.

The band play with honesty, integrity and authenticity. The compositions and transcriptions of Benny Golson, Kenny Dorham, Bobby Timmons, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Hank Mobley and others are respectfully re-created.
