Enjoy a 2-hour Vineyard Experience including a talk, tour & wine tasting in the surroundings of our beautiful Nottinghamshire vineyard.
Set amongst the rolling countryside of south Nottinghamshire, the vines of Hanwell Wine Estate are being hand-tended to grow grapes for English Sparkling Wine. Helenka and William Brown are the second generation of wine growers in Nottinghamshire. The grapes grown at Hanwell Wine Estate are taken to Helenka’s father to be made into wine. International award-winning winemaker Tony Skuriat is just 10 minutes away at Eglantine Winery also in South Nottinghamshire.
This tour, talk and tasting vineyard experience comprises of:
- Complimentary welcome drink: gather for a tea or coffee upon arrival, or purchase a glass of wine from the bar.
- Talk about setting up Hanwell Wine Estate and tales of Nottinghamshire vineyard life beginning in the 1970s. (15 minutes).
- Guided tour of the beautiful vineyard. They'll guide you along the gently sloping meadow path 100 metres into the vineyard. Here, you will rest for orientation and learn how they care for the vines by hand. (25 minutes).
- Tutored wine tasting to include 6 local wines.
- Explore further Wander as you choose. (20 minutes). Love nature and the great outdoors? Visit the woodland or lake nature reserves. Scientist or engineer? Visit the frost fan.
Tour
They will walk you through the vines sharing the vineyard story, what they grow, how they manage it and our future plans, all in a relaxed and friendly style.
The vineyard is grassy, the ground is uneven and can be wet, the slope is gentle. There are some seats in the vineyard and on the way. Our site is open to the wind and baking sunshine!
