A new guide is published this week written by Jane Broomhead from Retford Tourist Information Centre. Retford Tourist Information Centre’s Jane Broomhead has written a new book featuring 20 dog friendly walks in the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside. Jane, a familiar face with visitors to Retford Tourist Information Centre, has long promoted Nottinghamshire as a wonderful county for walking and she has thoroughly researched the walks, three of which are in the Bassetlaw area, and included details of distance and terrain, dog-friendly refreshment stops and the nearest veterinary practices. ‘I have featured walks I have particularly enjoyed with my two black Labradors Macie and Jake’ she says, ‘and I have tried to include routes which have maximum off-lead time and minimum exposure to roads’. She added: ‘Nottinghamshire is blessed with some of the finest rural areas in Great Britain and there is no better way to enjoy the countryside than a leisurely walk with your dog and stopping to enjoy refreshments at some of the picturesque villages nearby’. Nottinghamshire a Dog Walkers Guide is published by Countryside Books and is priced at £7.95. Copies are available at Nottingham and Retford Tourist Information Centres.
