I was lucky enough to travel to Lille, France, in May to see firsthand the amazing new show from Holiday on Ice, Speed. This exhilarating show is coming to Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena on 1 December 2012, and promises to wow audiences.  Stage Entertainment Touring Productions and Holiday on Ice claim Speed is more dramatic, more dangerous and faster than anything ever before staged on ice, and I have to admit they are right. The show blew me away – high intensity and full of energy, it is a kaleidoscope of colour, music and movement. 100% pure entertainment. World-class skaters, dancers and aerial artists from all over the world perform in Speed, a show combining death defying stunts, burlesque, skating, dance and electro circus. This revolutionary show is sexy, fast and full of adrenaline!       We caught up with Katie Brotherhood, who is a skater and dancer in the show and originally from Nottingham, to find out more about her role in the new show.  How long have you been skating? I have been skating (and dancing) for 22 years How did you land the role in SPEED? I landed the job, as I already worked for Holiday on Ice in another show and requested to be a part of the new show 'Speed' as it sounded fantastic and was to have dancers in it! I was lucky enough to be selected and I am half a dancer and half a skater in the show.....Dream!! Which scene in SPEED is your favourite? My favourite scene has to be the Casino scene which is called 'Speed of money' I just love the music and get really into it and the crowd always love it too! What are your favourite places to visit in Nottingham? My favourite places to visit in Nottingham are Wollaton Hall and also  the National Water Sports Centre for going on bike rides, as it's close to where I'm from! What’s your favourite place to eat out in Nottingham? My favourite places to eat out in Nottingham are Ginza which is a delicious Japanese Teppanyaki place. I also love Jamie's Italian, it's in such a beautiful building and serves great food! Are you looking forward to performing SPEED to a home audience in Nottingham? I am really excited about performing in front of a home audience, will be an amazing atmosphere having so many family and friends there supporting me. I will definitely be a little nervous too as I want to do my very best! Tickets for Speed are now on sale priced at £25, £30, £38 and £50 (plus booking fee). An early bird offer is available subject to availability up to 5pm on Tuesday 31 July for customers buying during the on sale. See www.capitalfmarena.com for more details.
