With only a few days to go until Christmas, the magical festive air has left us full of anticipation for big log fires, the delicious smell of turkey,  the whimsical sound of sleigh bells and above all, spending time with our loved ones. Nottinghamshire has plenty on offer to keep you in the festive spirit right through to New Year. There’s nothing like hearing some wonderful festive choral music in the lead up to Christmas. Shows run from Thursday 20th- Saturday 22nd December. It’s a Wonderful Life! Remember that classic Christmas tear-jerker? Now you can experience it at the Friday Film Club at the DH Lawrence Heritage Centre. The showing starts at 11am and tissues are optional. The Wollaton Hall Craft Fair is on again this weekend with a spectacular range of stalls including homemade jam, Christmas decorations, mulled wine, beauty products and some more unusual gifts which are sure to ensnare the senses. Top the day off with a visit to their onsite cafe and maybe even spot some resident deer. Batman fans will also recognise Wollaton Hall as the setting for Wayne Manor in the Dark Knight Rises. The film is available to buy on DVD and would make a great Christmas gift. Craft in the City 2012 is taking place all weekend from Friday to Saturday in the relaxed and ambient Sillitoe room, upstairs in Waterstones. You will be able to find high quality and inventive crafts from some of Nottingham’s best designers whilst enjoying stunning views of the city. Get the little ones into the festive spirit with Kidsophonic Christmas Concert 2012 at the Albert Hall. The Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra will both enchant and inspire.
