This week we share Sukhy Johal’s favourite places in Nottinghamshire. If you would like to share your ‘favourites’ with us, email us at social@experiencenottinghamshire.com or use the comment section below. You may feature on our blog and our various social media platforms. Sukhy Johal is the Executive Director for Elemental Force which will light up Nottingham Castle as part of Light Night this Friday. This free event is the first of a series of four taking place in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, to showcase the area's unique heritage, using film projections, pyrotechnic displays and fire gardens. The display will also highlight the rich history of the Castle, a site chequered with sieges, murders and intrigue. Very limited tickets are still available at http://www.experiencenottinghamshire.com/elemental-force "New Art ExchangeOne close to my heart. Just a few tram stops away from the city centre, hop off at The Forest where you can discover the New Art Exchange. A contemporary gallery in the heart of the community where not just amazing exhibitions, but great debates and conversations around diversity, take place. It’s great to pop in and experience the café buzzing. And for all you foodies & chefs out there, if you haven’t already, make sure you then head down to Radford Road.  From authentic Indian, Polish & Caribbean ingredients to a contemporary Kulfi bar, you won't be disappointed. Who needs to travel the world for inspiration when it’s all here on our very own international door step. Wollaton ParkWhenever the snow falls I am taken back to my childhood and fond memories of grabbing my sledge and heading off to Wollaton Park. There are few cities that can boast such a beautiful building designed by Robert Smythson coupled with the magnificent public grounds. A testament to its custodians, Wollaton Park has and will continue to create memories for future generations – just ask Batman! Trent Bridge Cricket GroundNottingham’s sporting pedigree and its rich history always deserve a mention. For me, this has to be Trent Bridge, which regularly hosts international matches. It has become one of the nation's favorite grounds, even for ardent Indian supporters like me! For the sheer spectacle and atmosphere it’s worth a day out even if you aren't a sports fan." *featured image Elemental Force preview at Chatsworth House. Credit - Maria Falconer.
